Now - another "goodie" Google also has thousands of books on line! Go to: http://books.google.com/ I had to work my way through this one. IF the book is out of copyright, the entire book is there and you can download it to your computer and/or print it off. If it's still under copyright, they will just show you the page(s) where your surname is listed, but many times that is enough. When you do your search (under the box where you type in the surname) you can have it search for ALL references to that name (or location or event likely), or just for the ones that are downloadable. I did my Gorin search and found about 7 hits that I could print off. I didn't need the whole book at this time, just the citation. The ones I found dated back to the mid to late 1800's up to more current times - some wonderful finds! Sandi Col.
