I recently learned of google placing thousands of newspapers on line. It was discussed by Eastman in his daily column (get on his list, it's free and it's good). The link to his website is below. http://blog.eogn.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/2006/09/google_offers_o.html He explains the new google service and has a link to googlenewspapers. In brief, it's great, but partial. You can do a search for a name and it will give you an abstract of part of the article. To get the entire article, you have to pay $2-5 dollars from the paper it appeared in. Sometimes the abstract gives you a lot of info, something just a blurb. I did a quick search on Gorin - 12,000 some entries and I found a lawsuit in Jefferson Co in 1865 with Thomas Jefferson Gorin, James Edward Gorin (his father) and Daniel Ashby (son in law of T J), a divorce in the early 1900's, and several other great articles. But, I couldn't afford to order them all - I THINK once you submit payment on line, they'll open up the entire article for you online. I don't like the paying part but it's great to know if someone you're looking for is listed - then it's up to you! Just for your info ... Sandi
