It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of Eleanor Carlson Gorin Skagg of Greensburg, KY. Eleanor was a precious lady, intelligent, loving and a delight to her family. The last time I was able to see her was 2 years ago in Greensburg. She died last Friday at the Univeristy of Louisville Hospital where she had been for a time. Born 6 March 1915, she was the daughter of John Nicholas Carlson and Elin Amanda Olson Carlson. She was married to Jameson Dearen Gorin 16 Aug 1941 who died 25 Oct 1963. She later married Alfred Paul Skagg 22 Sept 1872 who preceded her in death also 3 May 1978. Eleanor was the former Greensburg Record-Herald publisher and columnist, served on the library board, was responsible with others in the restoration of the old courthouse in Greensburg, loved local history, was a wonderful artist and in the later years of her life earned a master of public service degree from WKU. She attended Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church; leaves a son Walt and 2 beautiful granddaughters, Jill and Michelle. Eleanor was a delightful lady, a southern lady through and through and our family admired her greatly. Our condolences to her family; they are very special to all of us. Sandi Col.
