Charleen: Like you I am also a descendant of Captain John Gorham and his wife Desire Howland. and their son Shubael Gorham and his wife Puella Hussey.. Their son George Gorham married Hannah Banks and had a son Shubael who married Mary Selleck. This family then moved to New Brunswick Canada in the Long Reach, Kings County area. I am working on getting the documents together for the Mayflower Society but I have one really high brick wall. My great grandfather was William Walker Gorham married to Mary Minnie Porter. Shortly after the birth of my grandmother, he left his wife and daughter and has never been heard from since. I had heard that he had gone to California but I and several others have found no trace of him. But I'll keep on searching. I would dearly love to have a scan of the Gorham Coat of Arms if it is no trouble. Cheers, Marie F. <<My great grandfather was William Walker Gorham married to Mary Minnie Porter. Shortly after the birth of my grandmother, he left his wife and daughter and has never been heard from since. I had heard that he had gone to California but I and several others have found no trace of him. >> Interesting--what year would that have been that William went to California? A William Gorham (not the same one, because he was not married to a Porter) was my ggggfather; his son, George Raymond Gorham came to California c. 1850. If they came over about the same time, one may have influenced the other to do so. George Raymond Gorham lived in Humboldt County...
