I have letters from Mexico and from the United States Government Special Mexican Claims Commision regarding the money the Gorhams were paid to leave Mexico during the war. I also have the news clips of the death of Franklin P. Gorham by five Mexican bandits in Chamel in 1919. They moved there in 1903, a colony of 36 families. He was my Great Grandfather. Art and Vella lived next to us in North Powder and I loved them very much. They were as much my grandparents as anything. We all harvested crops together in the valley and I remember helping my mother feed the hay and wheat crews in the summer. I used to hide wrenches from Art when he was at our place working on tractors. I would love to hear from you.
