Kathy I just came across your post about the Gorhams. PLEASE don'th take your report off line for a while. My grandfather Squire Gorham Ragsdale's parents were both Gorhams. Her father was Elija Gorham and she Martha Elezabeth Gorham. Squire's father was known as Will and that's all I have on him. I don't have in on my finger tips right now bur if you can give me some time (a week or two I'll see if I can come up with something to help. These people were in Middle Tennessee. Her marriage certificate lists her parents as Syreno Gorham and Lorette Hastings. I can only find Syreno and Sarah Gorham listed anywhere. I am assuming Lorette was his first wife and Sarah would have been Lida's stepmother. I did find a picture of a tombstone that said Lavette Gorham, but again can find nothing else on her. It could have been spelled Lovette as well. This is my brick wall at the moment - it seems like she never existed! Does anybody know anything about that line? He had 3 children Sarah, John Richard, and Mary Julia. I see in the ireland census 1901 that all John and Thomas Gorham's are from county Galaway. I do not know he parents names or any siblings. I do suspect that perhaps a Thomas Gorham might be related as I see a John Gorham and a Thomas Gorham on the Wasington Territory census 4/1889. I know my great grandfather was in the Pierce county Washington state area at least by 1893 the year my grandmother was born. I understand that he perhaps may have died in a train accident in Idaho or Montana working for the Northern Pacific Railway or perhaps the Great Northern. I know he past away after 1896 when his last child was born and prior to 1900 census when his wife Katherine was widowed. Any assistance would be appreciated.
