I am told that Amy was a Daughter of the American Revolution through the Gorham lineage. I don't know how far back these Gorhams go, past Lawrence, but would sure appreciate any help or info. Thanks so much, in advance! Linda

Dear GORHAM cousins, I am very anxious to contact the owner of this GORHAM website. Is the author named R. W. BAIRD? Does anyone know an email address for him/her? There is very good research here that coordinates with work I have been doing on John GORHAM'S parents. http://home.nc.rr.com/rwbaird/gorham/Thomas%20Gorham.htm An excerpt: He [ Thomas ] appears a few times in the court records of Loudoun County, but not after 1782. The most interesting of these records is his selection by Miles Barden as his guardian on 13 March 1782 and his petition on Barden's behalf to settle the estate of his father, Thomas Barden a few months later.[5] Thomas Barden, who had been listed near Thomas Gorham in the tithables lists beginning in 1768, died in 1775 leaving a widow named Elizabeth who had remarried to John Wells. Elizabeth Barden may have been Thomas Gorham's sister, since her son Miles Barden is shown in the 1786 tithables as "Miles Gorham Barden". Thanks for your help! You are almost certainly descendants of Hans Ulrich Arner and Verena Eberhard, 1735 immigrants from Switzerland to Philadelphia. Join us for an August 24-25, 2002 gathering in beautiful Lehigh County, Pennsylvania (1 hour north of Philadelphia). For “reunion” information or to see where you fit into the *rner family, visit Joe Erner’s website at www.geocities.com/~erner/gen/arner which documents the Arner/Aner family to the 1500s, or contact us through the Arner Listserv at ARNER-L@rootsweb.com. We’re planning two fun-filled days including a catered Pennsylvania Dutch luncheon and the dedication of a memorial stone in the Heidelberg Union Church cemetery to honor the immigrants. Help us widen our circle of cyber-cousins and plan to attend. We welcome you.
