They did not have any surviving children. (John Howland of the Mayflower by Elizabeth Pearson White [1990] Vol. 1 pages 71, 72). Edward was the only Springer included in the land records of Newport, R.I. Trying to confirm when and where they lived. When did they leave Newport, Rhode Island. When and where did they die and if in deed they had ANY children. Any constructive information will be helpful and appreciated. Help me solve this once and for all.

Hello list, I am a new subscriber to this list. I saw it on the list of adoptable lists and adopted it since I have GORHAM ancestors, which means I am now your List Administrator. As a brand new subscriber, I don't know how long the list has been up for adoption. I have taken the time to read the entire archive for the list to get a feel for what has transpired on the list. You all are doing a great job and I hope that I can contribute as I delve deeper into my GORHAM ancestry. I am seeking confirmation that Mary Pauline GORHAM (my 2nd great grandmother) was the daughter of Sanford and Mary (ASHURST) GORHAM. Mary Pauline wed John TEEGARDEN Jan 1857 in Ray Co., Missouri. Census information indicates that Sanford's family was only GORHAM family in Ray Co. at this timeframe and census lists a Mary as daughter. If you need assistance with your subscription or list issues, please feel free to contact me at any time. Regards, Dale Givens GORHAM-admin@rootsweb.com

I am looking for any information regarding my father's birth family. He was born Baby Boy Gorham on May 29, 1927 in Chicago, IL. His adoption decree shows Jean M. Gorham as his birthmother. We are kind of stumped as our Gorhams are in Arkansas but traced back as far as John M. Gorham (born Georgia 1818 but says his parents were born in Virginia). He came to Arkansas from Georgia in the 1840s with Thomas Gorham (possible brother or cousin who married Almedia Denson in 1842 Cass Coutny, GA Thomas had a son Wm. & son James T. who married Nancy in Georgia, both boys were in the confederate army.) Back to John M. Gorham, he was in the Arkansas Cavalry Battalion 1862. His son James A. Gorham born 1-5-1848 and my line goes down from there all in Arkansas. We have lots of information on the Gorhams to Viriginia, but we are stuck in gettingMY Gorham line out of Virginia, into Georgia and connect the dots to John M. Gorham. Again, although he was born in Georgia he has down that his parents (names unknown) were born in Virginia.
