He emigrated to the US from England or Scotland, first appearing in the Baltimore, MD city directory in 1819 with a dry goods store. He continued in this occupation until about 1827, when he moved to Kentucky. He died in Burlington, Boone Co., KY, in 1833. His wife, Mary Connor, was named in her June 11, 1829, obituary in the Baltimore Ameircan, in which it said "Gordon is away and has left a destitute mother and infant child." Not good. Joseph B.
