    1. Little crack in the brick wall today -- Carnousie Gordons
    2. Several days ago, I posted (again) my paltry little bit of information on my earliest Gordon ancestor, Jane Gordon, born about 1730 in colonial Virginia. Jane married William Starling and was the mother of William, Roderick, and Sarah Starling. I am descended from William. The old scrap of information said her father was a Doctor and her cousin was Major Gordon who was a casualty in the Battle of Quebec. I would like to publically thank Angela Mainwaring for providing the most hopeful bit of new information that I could have imagined -- this was a case for which I had literally no leads for years on where to look for more information. Per Angela's research notes from times gone by, she found in "Directory of Scottish Settlers in North America" by David Dobson, 2 separate listings for a Dr. Roderick Gordon, of Carnousie, Banffshire. Here is the second listing as she gave it to me: GORDON, DR RODERICK Son of . . . Gordon of Carnousie, Banffshire. Brother of Arthur Gordon of Carnousie. Ship's surgeon, 1727 to 1728. Settled in King and Queen County, Virginia from 1729 until 1744. (RH15-SRO) In addition to thanking Angela, I'd love to hear from anyone who recognizes this Carnousie family of Gordons and can share anything about them. Thank you very much! Best Regards, Don Boyd Fairborn, Ohio USA
