    1. Hayden Gordon, died 1884 Trying Again
    2. Liz Colestock
    3. I posted this info a few months ago, maybe there is someone new to the list that may be able to help. These are notes from Sida Gordon, Hayden Gordon's grandson: Hayden Gordon was born in England, emigrated to Boston, MA, died in 1884 and was a 'sea captain'. Sida knew nothing of Hayden's wife. Their son, Arthur Hayden (A.H.) Gordon was born in Boston in August of 1841. Arthur Hayden Gordon went to Benton Co., Oregon Territory when he was a young man, probably in 1861 or 1862. He probably went by boat to either Portland or San Francisc, then on to Benton by stagecoach. Said to have been fairly well educated, literate, and clever with figures. He may have recieved some legal training, perhaps in Boston. He became the Justice of the Peace for Benton County's 5th precinct from 1864 to 1866. He died in Grangeville, Idaho Co., Idaho May 1887, where he had been postmaster for 7 years. He married (1) Amanda Stewart(d), and had five sons. Married (2) Clara Ida Garrison and had one daughter. Any information that you might have on the above would be greatly appreciated, Thank you, Liz Bremerton, WA
