I too, am looking for a George Gordon, that is my brickwall. Here is what I know: He died at Fort Hawkins, GA. around 1811 - 1813. His wife was Polly Hughes, whose brother was James Hughes. Polly and George had a son, Alexander Curry (A.C.)Gordon, born September 28, 1811. A.C. was orphaned (at least his father died), and moved from Georgia to Alabama territory with his Uncle James Hughes around 1817 or so. They settled in what became Henry County, Alabama near the settlement of Franklin. Alexander Curry Gordon was my ggggrandfather and I have much info about him and descendants. But his father, George, and his mother, Polly Hughes are my big, big, big brickwall. Some sources list Washington County, Georgia as their birthplaces and birthdates around 1791 and 1795, respectively. That is all I know about them. Would love to find more about their families. Does this match up with anybody? Thanks, Sally Sinclair
