ALL very true! You'd think though that in that early time,in such a small population base that ANYONE with the name Gordon within 500 miles would be related! This gets so frustrating sometimes! As you say, even with the Septs, all those with the name Adams are not related.....and again, the population base of the time of the Clans was not large. You should hear me trying to explain all this to people wanting to know WHY they are not related to the other Adams' if they are in the same sept in the same clan.
