His name was John Gordon he immigrated here ffrom Ireland Probably born around 1860.s immigrtaed probably 1880,s . settled in Hells Kitchen area of NYC. Married Sadie Shwartz wwho was of dutch extraction . Worked at the N.Y.Times newspaper. Started the Mailers union at that paper.
