Joyce, this is a total "shot in the dark", but anyway: My Great Grandfather, Drury Akers, married Mary Gordon in Montgomery County, Virginia October 2, 1833. No father is listed for Mary Gordon, only a mother, Sarah Gordon who was in a census about 1850 in the home of a Thomas Henning, who happened to be one of the witnesses at the wedding. I've been totally in the dark as to the lineage of these ladies and yours is the first post that might possibly have a clue. Are these ladies at all familiar to you?
