I've recently learned/concluded that my ancestor Jane Gordon, b. abt. 1730, King and Queen County, was probably the daughter of "Dr." Roderick Gordon, from Carnousie, Banffshire, Scotland, who was a ship's surgeon before settling in K&Q County about 1728. I have no information on his wife or other children. Would be most interested in learning more about the Gordons of that time and place. I have lots on Jane's descendants. Best Regards, Don Boyd Fairborn, Ohio USA
One can go to Ancestory Com and find many Gordons files. My 2nd ggrandfather John A. Gordon was born in Maryland in 1800. There are a lot John Gordons, just don't know if any of them is mine. There are Gordons that reach far back in Scotland to the Queens and Kings.
