My records show Samuel Gordon marrying Rachel Herron November 11, 1790 in Madison Co., Kentucky. Recorded in Richmond, Madison Co., Kentucky Courthouse Marriage Book "A", p. 52. Excerpt from the record: "Samuel Gordon and Andrew Herron are held and firmly bound in the sum of 50 pounds current money November 9, 1790....... " The condition of the above obligation is such that there is a marriage shortly intended betwixt Samuel Gordon and Rachel Herron. This same Samuel and Rachel Gordon are now buried in Ragland, St. Clair Co., Alabama. Some of his history can be seen on my web page: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Prairie/3619 I can see now that there must have been more than one Samuel Gordon. Of course only one married Rachel Herron. That being my g-g-g-g grandfather. I'd like to hear more about what you know. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, July 30, 1999 7:53 AM Subject: Samuel Gordon in KY > In a message dated 7/30/99 6:20:20 AM Central Daylight Time, > [email protected] writes: > > > Tell me what you can about the below mentioned Samuel Gordon.
