Hi John; I was quite surprised reading your lineage. Before that, it appeared to me that all the Maine Gordons were descended from Alexander (1)Gordon and Mary Lisson. Apparently not from your work. I am looking for a Mark Gordon born 1700, place unknown. His dau, Abigail m. Jonathan Bean 14 Sep 1745 in Candia, Rockingham, NH. He was said to be a descendant of Alexander(1) Gordon and Mary Lisson. I can offer you a gedcom of the descendants of Alexander if you want, but I don't think it will help you any. Let me know if you want it. Best wishes, Dana Edgecomb At 04:35 PM 7/20/1999 EDT, you wrote: >Hi listers! >Thanks for all the welcoming emails! >Here's the info I'm starting with- >over 30 years ago, my Great Aunt Winnie told me the first Gordons in our line >were 4 brothers, Mark, Matthew, Luke and John, who came over from Scotland. >In the great fire of '47 in Maine the family homestead was burned down, a >total loss, with all of her Grandfather's Civil War things lost.
