Thanks for the info on the Gordon's. My relationship to them is: Hugh and Sarah Owens Gordon's daughter , Mary. She married Anderson Jeffries. They had son , Isham Jeffries , who married Jane Parker They had son ,Anderson Jeffries, who married Judith Scott. They had son , Thomas Jeffries , who married Adeline Lipsey. They had a daughter, Sallie Jeffries , who married Clarence Lawson They had a son , William Holmes Lawson, my father. I wish we could prove, absolutely, who Hugh's father was. Don't you? I was born and raised in Elizabethtown, Ky. Only less than 50 miles from where Hugh and Sarah lived and was buried. I have heard from people who have been to the farm where they lived but the ones who have gone in the more recent past say they can find no trace of their graves. There is another example of--I wish that I had known that they lived there, when I lived in Elizabethtown . We often find things out after the fact. That happens so often, in genealogy.
