    1. Re: Gordon's of Limestone Cty AL
    2. Hello Bill, Gee, I'd like to think we are climbing the same tree - so to speak - but I'm afraid not. Here's my family in a nutshell. Thomas Kennedy Gordon(B. 6 April 1792, D 31 March 1880) of Mont Gordon, Giles County, Tennessee married Elizabeth Lane 24 February 1830. They had a bunch (10 or so ) of children. Their first son was David Marion Gordon B 15 February 1821 in Tennessee, D. 16 February 1902 in Coxey or Ripley, Limestone County, Alabama. This was my great grandfather. In 1856, David Marion married Sarah Frances Waters. They had a few children, too. Lille b. 1857 Margaret LUCRETIA b. 1859 Sarah Frances b. 1863 Thomas b. 1866 David M. Jr, b. 1867 William Wallace b 1869 his gr. granddaughter is into family history in a big way Malvina "MALLIE" b. 1871 Eula Lee b. 1874 CORA LEWIS GORDON (Abernathy) b. 1877 My grandmother. Sarah Waters Gordon died about 1882. Not much to run with, but hopefully you'll find a common thread. Please let me know if any of this makes sense to you. At the moment I'm searching for information about a Battle of Salem, possibly fought near Nashville. Grandfather David Marion Gordon was taken to a Nashville prison after that battle because he refused the oath of allegiance to the union. Best of luck in your quest. Please keep me in mind if you uncover any tidbits of knowledge. Trish
