Hi Judy, I'm also researching the surname GORDON. Mine lived in Jacksonville, Fla. in 1880. All I know so far is Louisa Gordon (don't know husband's name or her maiden name) there was no husband listed (widowed) son's names are David and Edward. They were Roman Catholic and Edward married Eugenia Ferreira in the Church of the Immaculate Conception on June 23, 1880 in Jacksonville, Duval County, Fla. There is a slight chance Louisa's maiden name was PONS and her family lived in Fernandina Beach, Fla (as per the 1850 census). Age would be right as she was 19 in 1850 and 49 in 1880. Louisa's husband may have been named Edward (hunch) and may have been born in New York City. There was also an Edward Gordon that lived in Jacksonville, Fla.(about 30 miles from Fernandina) in 1850 as per the census. Any help would be greatly appreciated..........Eydie
