Hi Chuck, You wouldn't know where in Scotland your Gordons came from would you? george william and Alexander are common names from that period, but those as the typical male names in my Gordon line as well. My gggg grandfather was William Gordon, born about 1767, I think in Aberdeenshire. His sons where William, George, James, Alexander and Charles (who is my ggg grandfather). The sons were all born in Pisligo Parish, Aberdeenshire, between 1795 and 1812.
