Hi Fred and GORDON-L members: Fred Gordon wrote: >Kathy if I may be so forward as to ask but how did you get that information in >such detail? I've been looking for just such a listing for my 4th great >grandfather, William KEY. In case any others do not know, you can write to the National DAR office & request a copy of anyone's ORIGINAL application papers. It is best to look in a DAR LINEAGE BOOK to locate someone who has gone into DAR on one of your ancestors. Kathy states that she got her GORDON information from Volume 109. These books are found in most any Genealogy Library. Kathy has listed DAR Members & their membership number. If you find one of your ancestors that someone has gone into DAR on, you can write to the NSDAR - give name of DAR Member the Surname & Membership number: NATIONAL SOCIETY DAUGHTERS of the AMERICAN REVOLUTION 1776 D Street NW Washington, DC 20006-5392 I was recently told that the cost of a copy is now $5.00. If it is your line, it gives all the documentation used to prove the relationship and either check marks on proofs or notes by the person who checked on the documentation. Also, that they are far behind and it takes awhile to get the record.
