I am descended from the Gordons listed in the book The Gordons of the Deep South. I have not independently verified the info in the book except as to how it relates to my more recent ancestors. I come from the line of John/Ruth>Govin,Sr./Sarah>Violet/James Chandler>Margaret E. Chandler/George T. Garnett. The line went from VA>SC>Jones Co.,GA>Greene Co.,AL. Does anyone have any info on the John and Ruth who started it all? Has anyone verified the info the Gordons of the Deep South Book? Is anyone researching this line or a close link?
