My 3 ggf is Thomas GORDON born ca 1760... and all we've ever seen in census is 'born in VA' .... I'm wondering if this could be a 'link' I've been looking for -- for years! (HE had a daughter named Elizabeth also. Family lore has it that after Thomas' father died, the estate was divided between Thomas and his brother (?); and that Thomas freed the slaves took off 'over the mountains'... but noone seems to know any more than that!)
