There is a web page for Three Rivers Historical Society. I don't have the URL at hand, but just put in the name in Yahoo or Infoseek search engine and it should come up for you. The members of the Society have gone to the county and made copies of the records there and soft bound them into copies that you can buy. They have indexed most of them. It is a great place to research if you have roots there. They have also indexed a lot of the cemeteries in the county too. They have some records from Marion, Georgetown and Sumter too. Not as extensive as Williamsburg Co. though. They also will make copies of family files and send those to you for cost of copying, plus $5.00, I think. It has been a while since I ordered anything, but I got it promptly. Mrs. Nell Morris, the librarian there is a treasure. If you have a question, she can pretty much point you in the right direction. She even called a Gordon researcher that lives in the old homestead to come and meet my sis. and me. It was quite a day!!! The list of publications are on the web site. We have a lot of the books here at the Orlando library and I can look up something for you if you see a book that you think may have info for you, but don't want to pay $20.00 to find out. Really, though, they will pretty much tell you if your family is in there. They are that friendly and helpful.
