I've recently learned/concluded that my ancestor Jane Gordon, b. abt. 1730, King and Queen County, was probably the daughter of "Dr." Roderick Gordon, from Carnousie, Banffshire, Scotland, who was a ship's surgeon before settling in K&Q County about 1728. I have no information on his wife or other children. Would be most interested in learning more about the Gordons of that time and place. I have lots on Jane's descendants. Best Regards, Don Boyd Fairborn, Ohio USA

I don't think so, but I haven't tracked down all of Jesse's children, so I guess it's possible. What state was listed as John Gordon's birthplace? Jesse Gordon moved from VA to Surry Co, NC abt 1771, then to Wilkes Co, GA, abt 1776/77, then to South Carolina, then to various counties in Kentucky, then to Jackson County, Illinois, where he died at age 95. I believe he was married 3 times. Mary Moyer ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! ILL on Oct. 21 1849. I have 17 pages of infro on on the Gordons in Mclean Co. and Logan Co. most of them came from Ohio. If you send me your address I mail you copies of them. Hi, I would like to have the census info on the Gordon's of Greensburg, Louisiana (St. Helena Parish) My Grandfather's name was John Earnest Gordon and his first wife's name was Madine Gordon. Thank You, Harold Gordon Stallworth fhccwof@bellsouth.net
Hi Jack, I would really like to have the census info on the Gordon's of Illinois. My Gordon's were also in Clark Co., OH before moving on into Illinois. What time period are we looking at for your Thomas Lake Gordon and who was he married to.....I will try to help. Will check some sources and get back to you. I think the first born son of Mariem and Josiah Gordon was named Thomas, but that is all I know at present. Mariem Gordon, nee Foley moved to Clark County, OH about 1805 with her brother, James Foley and 11 of her brothers and sisters. She was my 4gg-grandmother. Mariam is buried in Clark Co., OH. Josiah died in VA. My 3gg-grandfather, James Wallace Gordon, was the fourth son and fifth child of this couple. Did Thomas Lake Gordon move to Logan Co., IL? I did not see the previous postings on Hugh Gordon. I descend from a Hugh Gordon born in Ballyhay, Co. Down, Parish of Donaghadee, IRE. He immigrated in 1881 to Chicago, IL. If this is the Hugh someone is researching, I have the records/documents from Ballyhay to Chicago. Sandra

Searching for information on Samuel (born about 1740) Gordon and his children John Gordon (born about 1766), Samuel born about 1775, and Katherina born 30 Sept. 1779, and their families. They were in Catawissa, PA probably 1760 or sooner, until about 1805 when they moved to Ohio. Samuel died in Fairfield Co., OH about 1823. Catawissa, PA was in Northumberland County, PA, which area is now Columbia County, PA. Thanks! Marilyn (Gordon) Jones marejones@aol.com
