My g grandmother was Sallie Gordon. It is said she was from OK and she did have a sister in later years who married a Benjamin Hubert Colbert in Ok. So that kind of sets the family up for OK. Sallie Married Benjamin Lloyd Graff and their first child was born in 1900. Ben was born Sept 1876. I think Sallie was probably born by 1880. I have a picture of Sallie with Ben and their first child. Do you think that she may be linked to your clan. Her brother and sister were Elizabeth and William and her parents were Elizabeth LaFevre or LeRouge (We found two spellings) and Martin Gordon. May try to drop in on your reunion if you think there is a connection. Thanks for any help. This Richard Gordon is the Richard Gordon who was born in Henry County, VA, in 1766, moved to Wilkes Co., NC., Wilkes Co., GA, to Franklin Co., GA where he served at Walton's Fort. Then he marched to Bledsoe's Lick in Sumner Co., TN., then to Powell Valley, VA. where he married. He and Susannah moved on to Madison Co., KY, then to Cumberland Co., KY, then to Jackson Co., TN. While in Madison Co. Richard served as bondsman for the marriage of Mary "Polly" Gordon and Samuel Black, but what if any relationship existed between Mary and Richard I don't know. He was too young and hadn't been married long enough to have been her father. I'm aware of all those Madison Co. Gordons but don't have a clue as to who any of them are other than Richard. Joyce

What is your Gordon line? I have much research on our line and a few that we have not been able to connect to, but are possibilities. Our line of research: Alexander GORDON m Sarah LEE in Fairfield or Chester District, SC Is found in 1800 Chester Co, SC Census and is found of record by 1803 in Robertson Co, TN. Their children - mostly the daughters, stayed in SC. The sons migrated to various places, such as KY, AR, IL, GA, MS, TX and no telling where else! My husband's line is from Robert Boaz GORDON & Millie PITTS (dtr of Joseph & Patsy (BARBEE) PITTS) who married in Robertson Co, TN, moved to Carroll Co, TN, Graves Co, KY then to Conway Co, AR abt 1845. One of our GORDON cousins with whom we do research has a GORDON webpage: http://www.angelfire.com/tn/gordongenealogy There is much info on there and she adds to it nearly daily. She is an avid researcher, who demands proof! It is a very good page. It would be nice if we could find a connection! The August 4th reunion should be for the Kentucky Gordons, descendants of John Gordon and his son, Obadiah Gordon,Sr. and wife, Elizabeth Gadberry, and their two sons; Obadiah Gordon, Jr who married Mary Ann Miller, and William Gordon b, 1799, married to Elizabeth Miller. Obadiah, Jr moved to Daviess Co and William moved to Shelby Co. Contact Kathie King at Kat1956@aol.com for more information, since she is coordinating everything. I am researching the GORDON family of Newfoundland and anxious to make contact with others doing the same. I have significant information back to 1750. My present obstacle is none other than a WILLIAM GORDON, believed born ca 1855, died 1922 at Harbour Grace. By family tradition and all other indications, this line came from Scotland. Any assistance most welcome. Frances Gordon White

If they weren't part of the Established religion in Scotland they were not documented.
