Hello all What should I make of the following search finding on Freereg? Bicker 8 Dec 1840 baptised Priscilla Hempshall (twin) father Henry Hempshall, carpenter mother Priscilla SAME DATE baptised William Hempshall, (twin) father Henry Hempshall cottager mother Priscilla The discrepancy of the father's occupation could be (a) an error by the vicar (b) a correction by Henry in the middle of the transaction, being unhappy with being described as a mere cottager (c) a whimsical attempt on the part of the vicar and /or the father to show that he could be described as either cottager or carpenter (d) a mistranscription by the recent freereg volunteer Which is most likely - and has anyone come across something similar with twin baptisms?
