Rod I copied your posting to one of my daughters who works in deaf studies but specialises in sign language rather than lip-reading. She doesn't think she can help personally but has said the following which may be worth following up if nobody else comes forward. "someone told me recently that "they" are developing a lipreading app. There is the association of LipSpeakers whose website is http://lipspeaking.co.uk and one assumes if they know about lipspeaking they should know about lipreading too ." Rod, ALS, the Association of Lipspeakers, is an umbrella organisation for lipspeakers, people whose lip patterns, occasionally with sign language support, are read by lipreaders. The lipspeaker works in many situations "speaking" the words of other people in the conversation. They, themselves, are unlikely to be proficient as lipspeakers, but the Association may be aware of specialist lipreaders who may be able to assist. There were, for instance, specialist lipreaders ten years ago who were used by the police in criminal trials reading videos. Hope this helps - my wife, a retired lipspeaker knows she is unable to assist. Hello Rod I have just returned from my lip reading class. I don't think I am proficient enough to read for you, but would be able to seek help from my class, some of whom have been attending for almost 10 years, if you find no one else to help.
