    3. Sounds like the first thing you want to do is figure out how you want to organize ( software, numbering systems, etc.) and the probably set up a website where you and the distant researchers can collaborate. The Members room on the Guild website has a lot of help for these areas. If you use the YouTube tab at the top of the page - it will take you to a large collection of videos - one of the most recent is about different websites and what makes a good one. Highly recommended The Bulletin board tab takes you to the Bulletin board where there is a section on different software packages and another on web hosting sites The Wiki has many pages on good practices and helpful tips And there is a publication "the Seven Pillars of Wisdom" that brings it all together. In my case, my satellite researchers don't really want to bother with a website so they send me there information. I use Roots Magic for my main database and excel spreadsheets for collecting raw data. I publish at Tribalpages.com because I am lazy. I work on my main database inputting data from my crew and when I have enough changes, I update my site with a gedcom load - pretty effortless and very cheap. If your group is more hands-on you may want to look at a platform like TNG where they can each handle their own areas. But read and watch some of the Guild material first!!!! I'm not particularly keen on retyping details for hundreds of Hartwells from GED into html Ideas and suggestions are welcomed / and any details of notable Hartwells you may have encountered.
