Having finished the cardinal points for St James Pockthorpe in Norwich, with a little prompting from Mary Rix I'm considering doing another parish or two over the next few months. Small problem: many of the parish registers scanned and placed online by FamilySearch finish at or around 1901. Is there anyone out there who might spend an hour or so in the Norfolk Record Office or the Millennium Library, take a file from me complete up to 1901 and then finish the job from fiche or film? If so, please let me know. If you have the time now, you can even do the latest years first! TIA Paul PS Having mentioned Dorset the other week, it occurs to me that the Medway towns might be good meat for similar effort. The wonderful parish records placed online at the CityArk site aren't indexed either. I've spent a good deal of time working through them looking for marriages and suspect others have too. Having cardinal points for that area, even just for one or two parishes in the middle of the alphabetical range, would save a good deal of time for lots of people. If you'd like to do that or another area, I'm sure Mary Rix would love to hear from you. -- Paul Howes www.howesfamilies.com Researching House, Howes, Hows, Howse & Howze worldwide
