Hi Fiona, Within the Open University Site you'll find the attached Pdf (see link below) - this was an extensive guide (issued some time ago) to what survived in Police Archives unfortunately very little is listed for Lancashire (I typically mention this source for Policing) http://www.open.ac.uk/arts/research/policing/sites/www.open.ac.uk.arts.research.policing/files/files/ecms/arts-policing-pr/web-content/guide-to-police-archives.pdf Another possibility would be to track down copies of the Police and Constabulary Almanac (commenced in 1858) initially it lists senior officers but I believe later editions had more details. You might find this deposited in Dublin ? A final possibility might be to contact the Police Historical Society (I am a member because of my Newspaper and more particularly Police Gazette interest) to see whether any current member has done research on the early 20th century Liverpool Police force and might be aware of any other records .
