Hi Guys, I am trying to confirm a marriage which has been said to have taken place in NEW YORK, USA in 1804 between a James (Bloomfield) MINGAY, born England c 1773 and a Ellen Griffiths; other information regarding this wedding is as follows ' Performed by Bishop HOBART, Protestant Episcopal Church, Trinity Parish'. Try as I might I have failed to find any record of this marriage in any Church Record whatsoever or come to that any other marriage as a church record. Do they exist, that is Church Records in the same form as in England? Any guidiance will be gratefully welcomed. Family search does have the civil record of this marriage so it is historically correct however it does not appear that that church allowed their records to be microfilmed.
