    3. Hi All, I am hoping someone can enlighten me on why there appears to be 'two' Federal Census (thats according to Ancestry), one carried out on 7 Jul 1870 and the other on 5 Aug 1870. This occurs when searching for a Lawrence MINGEY/MINGAY/MINGY born 1805 in Ireland, two results are given both give the details of said Lawrence are in the ages, similat the son John seems aged 9 years within that period, just weird. The title for the first one is 3rd Division 8th Ward, New York, Post Office, New York City, the second is 15 District 9th Ward, New York, Post Office 11 Greenwich Avenue. Could an explaination be one is a Federal Census and the othe a City Census, even so it does not explain the differences? Or is it that the family 'moved' within the almost intervening 4 weeks? If so why the reduction in the number children? Was the latter a 'selected' Census? Is there a way of identifying the actual addresses from some other part of the Census? This is needed so that details of natualisation can 'matched' with various people. Regards Tony Anthony John MINGAY, now in NZ once of Kent & Suffolk, England but still researching Worldwide the surname MINGAY & its variants. http://www.mingayhistory.co.uk.
