Hi All, It was pointed out to me by John COMMINS, (many thanks for that) contained in the small print was the word 'renounces', which makes even more sense that USA soldiers 'renounced' all allegiances to other countries. In the case of 'my' William, being just 'over' from England, he renounce allegiances to King Goeorge V' BTW the next soldier renounced allegiance to The Government of Russia., another renounces his allegiance to 'Victor Emmauel III, King of Italy' and so on.
