I wanted to provide an update about FGS/RootsTech 2015 which is less than a month away. Hopefully a number of Guild members will be in attendance and some Guild members are presenting. The Guild is participating in the FGS Society Showcase (located at the FGS's large booth area). The Society Showcase will have individuals and information available about the various local, regional, national and international groups, organizations and societies that are members of FGS. Over the 3 days we will have some Guild members at the Society Showcase to answer questions and/or meet up with other Guild members and those interested in one-name studies or surname research. The simple reason that we are participating in Society Showcase rather than having a booth at the Exhibit Hall is that very few Guild members got back to me about whether or not they were attending the conference or whether they would be willing to help out with a booth. I realize that it will be a very busy couple of days for all of us who are attending and/or presenting (and for those of us hoping to get in some research time at the Family History Library) but please do let me know if you will be at FGS/RootsTech - hopefully Guild members can meet up for drinks or dinner. And if you have an hour to spare, why not contact me about helping out at the Society Showcase. Finally, do we have any Guild members who are presenting at either FGS or RootsTech. I would love to give a shout out to fellow Guild members and make a point to meet up and encourage others to attend your sessions Thanks.
