Hi Paul The entry is pretty clear, except the surname of the Master. From a search of the other parish registers for Topcliffe around this date I'mfairly sure that it is meant to be Farmeerie (or similar) {are you listening Alan Morehouse?!), so it reads: 1604 Edward Wanncopp seruant to Thomas Farmeerie[?] of Asenbed Did Drowne him selfe in Swale vpon the 17[th] Nouemb[er] and was found vpon the 16[th] May nextafter and was buried the same Day I bet they did bury him the next day..... Hope that helps Polly ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul & Pam Smith via" <goons@rootsweb.com> To: <goons@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2015 2:26 PM Subject: [G] Transcription Hi, I wonder if there’s anyone who can help me read a 1604 parish register burial entry of Topcliffe on FMP for an Edward Whincopp (indexed Wancopp on FMP.) The entry is 5 lines long. Thank you Paul Smith _____________________________________________ RootsWeb lists - surnames, regions, software, etc http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to GOONS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
