Can someone tell me how to find what medals an RFC airman was awarded in WW1
Hi Jim I know they are on Ancestry (that's if you are referring to Victory medal etc). They are on the medal roll index cards. Go to advances and type in 'Royal Flying' in the Regiment/Corps box Hope that helps Caryl -----Original Message----- From: goons-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:goons-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Jim Isard via Sent: 11 January 2015 13:56 To: GOONS Subject: [G] Royal Flying Corps Medal Roll Can someone tell me how to find what medals an RFC airman was awarded in WW1 _____________________________________________ RootsWeb lists - surnames, regions, software, etc http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to GOONS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Hi Jim I have recorded three 'Killick' RFC medal recipients on the Army Medal Rolls. The RFC was part of the Army until 1918. However, from the RAF service records I know that many more than 3 Killicks transferred to the RAF when it was formed, so assume that these three records 'got lost' on the handover of documents to RAF Records!
