Some may be interested that The National Archives have just released a set of 8000 files Military Service appeal tribunals You can search 8,000 case files of men who appealed against their conscription as part of the <http://enews.nationalarchives.gov.uk/MAN-35GQ5-3BNK3I-1GAYCL-1/c.aspx>Middlesex military service appeal tribunal 1916-1918 (MH 47). Thanks to a project funded by the Friends of The National Archives and the Federation of Family History Societies these are free to download until 2024. I was pleased to find that one ADSHEAD was listed - George Frederick who appealed that at the age of 39 his family would be severely impacted if he could not carry on as a Wholesale Millinery Commercial Traveller. His case was dismissed. but his war service cannot have done him much harm as he lived to the age of 95 and died in 1971 in Colchester I was very fortunate, because the papers gave his address and occupation, I was able to resolve one of my long standing tree reconstruction problems.
