Valerie, Sadly not :<( I'm fairly certain a Death Certificate is a prerequisite for a burial - so we HAVE to have a death certificate first - and the place of burial my not be known at that time. There is no provision on English the death certificates for recording place of burial from 1837 to 2010 (my most recent cert). I found nothing on Deceased Online. There are some Hors(e)man burials at Hanwell, but not the ones I was looking for. Also not the ones I was looking for at Abney Park, or Hackney (although other family members were buried there when they lived at Whitechapel).Obviously its not the end of the world not knowing where they are buried, but nice to know Thanks again Sue Horsman3446 Hors(e)man > > _____________________________________________ > > Information and admin page: > http://one-name.org/guild-information-administration/ > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to GOONS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > _____________________________________________ > > Information and admin page: > http://one-name.org/guild-information-administration/ > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to GOONS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Having registered my mothers death last year I can confirm that the death certificate does not contain the last of burial/cremation A death has to be registered within 5 days of death and then you get the form that you need to take to the undertakers for them to collect the body - so no way to be certain of one without the other Regards John Hanson, researcher, the Halsted Trust, http://www.halstedresearch.org.uk New family history conference in 2018 http://www.secretlives.org.uk -----Original Message----- From: GOONS [mailto:goons-bounces+john.hanson=one-name.org@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Ken Toll Sent: 18 May 2017 10:36 To: Goons mailing list Subject: Re: [G] Westminster Burials Valerie, Sadly not :<( I'm fairly certain a Death Certificate is a prerequisite for a burial - so we HAVE to have a death certificate first - and the place of burial my not be known at that time. Ken, Valerie, The statement that a death certificate is a prerequisite for a burial is not entirely accurate but is for most cases. However, in the event of a death which requires a Coroner's Inquest at which the cause of death is determined the coroner will often issue an interim burial certificate which allows the corpse to be buried before the full inquest is heard, and only after the latter can the full certificate be issued.
