Author: mhodge38 Surnames: Goodrich Perkins Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.goodrich/1403.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Austin in my family was born 19 August, 1850, in Genesee County, NY (I believe Byron, or close by), the son of Philo Goodrich b 24 Jun 1812 in CT and Polly Perkins b July 1816 (possibly born in lower Canada or Genesee County, NY). His mother died 23 Sept 1850. His step-mother was Eunice Goodrich. There were a number of children, and I have not attempted to do further research on Austin, but he remained in the home and was raised by his step-mother and is gone by 1870. He is in the 1860 census in Genesee County, and is not shown with the family in the 1870 census. I am not sure if he is elsewhere in NY --- My brother did a 67 marker YDNA test. Results are at FTDNA - there is one perfect match and another with genetic distance of one -- a great line. If you have a candidate for the DNA test, you may want to consider getting one.
