I am looking forward to this discussion - am a descendant of William - my brother is a DNA match at 67 markers. Family went CT -> NY -> MI -> Surry County VA. While living in NY, my G Grandfather was in the Army of the Potomac and went to SE VA during the war. For "some" reason, he thought it desirable to move there late 1800s even though he was a yankee -- have often wondered if he knew his neighbor Goodrichs in Surry were probably cousins! (or maybe it was the weather - he got consumption while in the Army).
