    1. Re: [GOODRICH] Goodrich graves (Wethersfield, Rocky Hill, and Portland, CT)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Doug_Goodrich Surnames: Goodrich Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.goodrich/550.1.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I agree that Ensign William-1 Goodrich (#2) is probably buried at Wethersfield, but there is no monument. I was told that in the earliest days the grave markers, if they existed at all, were made of wood, which would not survive this long. That cemetery was originally an Indian burial ground, so the English settlers would use unmarked graves in order to avoid trouble with the natives. I don't know where William-3 and Rachel are buried. I apparently did not find any monuments for them. If I get a chance I'll check the cemetery listings to see if they are identified.
