Where did any of them go after leaving IL? Gae dbld118@aol.com wrote: Here goes... looking for a Samuel (we think) Goodrich. Landed in Moline ILL about 1910. Had two sons, with Della (var.) Conner (var.) Emery and William George (my grandfather). He worked at an ironworks factory in Moline. We don't know where Samuel came from, who his parents were. There were other Goodrich's in the area, but not sure how and if he was connected to them. He may have been married and had another family. When my great grandmother Della died in 1918 of influenza, he came back after a long absence to claim boys, and sent them to work in onion fields. Boys eventually broke away and went to live with their mothers sister Amanda. Boys were born Conner, but when the boys were small g-gm re-registered their births with last name of Goodrich, and moved year of birth by 2 years. Grandfather William was 2 years older than he thought he was. Here's to hoping that there is someone out there that might have a lead on this slippery bugger.... Well, Allegedly, Samuel went to Nebraska (who knows). Don't have death cert on him. William George stayed in Illinois moving to Peoria in his teens, died in 1963. Emery supposedly joined mililtary, lied about his age, when they found out, kicked him out. Don't know what name he used when he joined. We do have a picture of him in military uniform. Emery was killed at a young age in Montana in railroad accident.
