In the History of Genesee, Lapeer & Tuscola counties, pages 1043-1046, it says Enos Goodrich (not Reuben) was commissioned the first postmaster, in 1846, and the post-office was first known as Atlas but in 1849 its name was changed to Goodrich. This Enos Goodrich, of Goodrich, MI, went on to represent Michigan in politics. He was born 11 Aug. 1813 and is listed in our online Goodrich Family Association web site files as LWC2490.
