The story is getting complex in that I can't find any information on the Goodrichs. The first interment in the particular mausoleum was of GW Goodrich (George W)who died Nov 14 1884. However the mausoleum is owned by the Brown family, not the Goodrich family. I spoke with the general manager of the Cemetery, but he said the records are vague as to how it managed to become owned by the Brown family. Mary Goodrich was interred in the vault, her death date is Mar 14 1888. On Sept 14 1888, three other Goodrichs were exhumed and reinterred in the vault. They were moved from lot 23 section B of the cemetery. They were as follows: George C Goodrich (no death date) Julia A Goodrich died Mar 24 1856 "Goodrich, son of A.J.(or possibly A.C.)" The Erie Cemetery records show that mausoleum as the 'Brown vault', 'S.Brown vault', and with George's entry 'Private vault of Thomas Brown'. There are other Goodrichs in the cemetery, nearby the section that George, Julia, and 'the son' were originally buried, however, none seem to match with the family in the Brown Mausoleum. There are also two others in the vault that I don't have the names of. GW was a store owner (variety store and bakery) on State St in Erie. However, that is the only mention I can find of these particular Goodrichs in Erie. I haven't come across any genealogy references to them, only Emanuel Goodrich who was alive around the same time, but buried in the nearby location. I don't know if possibly they were brothers, but it's worth mention. If anyone has any information on these Goodrichs, I'd appreciate the help. I'm trying to track down the history of the mausoleum and the connection to the Brown family. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
