Her last name is given as Halks, Hawks, and other variant spellings. Census records have conflicting information on Michael's place of birth. The 1850 census has Michael's birthplace as Tennessee. In 1840 & 1850 census, Michael is in Indiana. In 1860, he is in Christian Co. IL. I did find a Michael Patrick in 1830 census in Hawkins Co. TN a few households away from a Jesse Patrick. This Jesse is of an age to be Michael's father, so I am looking for more on him. A younger Jesse Patrick is in 1850 census in Indiana, and I am working under the assumption this younger Jesse is likely a brother to Michael.
