The Attakapas Indians had a village named Hypolite. Though that was not an uncommon name back then. IF this mtDNA test proves positive it should show which side of the family it comes from. I turned in the Estilette name as well as the Guidroz name. Either great, great grandma Goodrich's dad was the NA or her mother was adopted into that family. The story was told to me all my life that she was a half breed Cherokee and we had Cherokee blood in us. I was born in 1940. Both my cousin and I sent our mtDNA kit/samples back today 09/28/2010 so the results should be back sometime in October.
