I am looking for information on Jared Goodrich b.in the 1830's.I first found information on him in 1850 census (age 18)living in Kendall,Orleans County NY. His widow applied for his Civil War pension. She stated they were married in 1853 in Clarkson,Monroe County,NY.They then were found in 1860 census for Holly,Oakland County,Michigan, where he joined the Volunteers of Michigan. He died in 1863 while in KY.That is all that is known about him so far. There are other Jared Goodrich's in the eastern part of the USA,but so far no connection. Can anyone help me through this brick wall. Thanks Wilma
Hi List, I thought I had listed this information before but when I looked in the archives, I couldn't find it. I did find a message from Susan Everts from 1999 with information about this family. Susan, are you still the list owner? If so, you must be a cousin. My 2nd g grandparents are Smith Wood and Maria Goodrich. I have tried for months to find information of Anselm Goodrich's parents (b 7/20/1783 in Schaghticook, Rensselaer Cty NY). Anselm and wife, Luna Bosworth, settled in Chazy, Clinton Cty NY, betw 1808/1810. They stayed there till their deaths, I believe. They had 7 children: Chauncy - married Lucy Ann Douglas Eliza and Patty both died young Samuel Archibalb - married Margaret Rhea Alva Bosworth - married Almisa or Almyra Evans Mary Ann - married Reynolds Brown Maria Elizabeth - married Smith Wood Recently I found another Anselm Goodrich b 7/4/1853 in Chazy. I think he is connected to Samuel Archibalb primarily because there is a child named Frank REA Goodrich. I don't know if he would be son or grandson of Samuel or even if my theory is correct. Anyone have information on this second Anselm? Susan, how is Ward Goodrich connected with this family? In your email from 1999 you mentioned an aunt who gave you some dates that were listed, so I assume you are in this line. Any information on these people would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Jan Reak Minneapolis MN
The 1790 Census lists a Joseph Smith residing in Leominster, Worcester County, Massachusetts. Also listed in this family is one free white male under 16 and three free white females. The females are (I believe) his wife Abigail Goodridge, born 24 Nov 1756 to Joshua Goodridge and Lydia Stearns in Lunenburg, MA; their daughter, Betsy, born in Leominster 3 May 1784; and their daughter, Lucinda, born in Leominster 19 Apr 1788. Joseph and Abigail filed their marriage intentions at Leominster 7 Sep 1783 and were married 11 Sep 1783. I assume that they were probably married at Lunenburg. Joseph was born about 1752, place unknown. They had a third daughter, Polley, born at Leominster 27 May 1792. Lucinda died in Leominster 9 May 1840, a spinster, and was buried at Pine Grove Cemetery. This is all of the information that I have on this family. I am especially interested in learning who might have been the male under sixteen listed in this family in the 1790 Census. Could it have been my great-great-grandfather, Joseph Smith, 2nd who died in Leominster 21 Jun 1834? His age at date of death is given as 49. Based upon his date of death, he would have had to have been born between 22 Jun 1784 and 21 Jun 1785. According to his son, Lorenzo's, Death Certificate he was born in Vermont. However, according to a Veteran's Grave Registration Card on file at the Leominster Public Library (War of 1812) he was born in Leominster. I have never been able to find a record of his birth anywhere. His age would fit with the above Smith/Goodridge family and it would explain why he was referred to as Joseph 2nd. Any and all information would be very much appreciated. Richard G. Smith

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone on this list might have some information about my ggg grandfather Allen Goodrich, b. abt. 1780 in Connecticut. The information I have on him indicates that he married Elizabeth Stevens (or Stephens), b. 1798 in Vermont. They moved to St. Lawrence Co., NY where I believe Allen died, sometime after 1850. Later Elizabeth moved with their children to Redwood Falls, Minnesota where she died sometime around 1870. Does Allen or Elizabeth sound familiar to anyone? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Paul
I've "rescued" some old photographs including two that are from the ROGERS Family. I'm not certain they are related, however, the photographs were obtained from the same source so it is likely that the two families belong together. The photos are as follows: #1 - Plynis ROGERS (best guess on the first name, very difficult to read) taken at a photo studio in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan. The photo was likely taken between 1900-1920 and Plynis appears to be between the ages of 12-18 at the time the photo was taken. #2 -ROGERS Sisters, taken sometime between 1915-1919. This appears to be a photo of 5 sisters including: *Minnie ROGERS LANE of Three Rivers, Michigan, married to Will LANE *Winifred ROGERS CARBINE of British Columbia, married to Frank CARBINE *Ada Idle "Della" ROGERS MANDIGO of St. Paul, Minnesota (Ruth FERGUSON's mother) *Luella ROGERS KNAPP of Sturgis, Michigan *Eva ROGERS GOODRICH of British Columbia, married to Roscoe GOODRICH I'm hoping that I can find these families and return the photographs, however, to date I've been unable to find any family members. If you are a member of one of these families or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Searching for a Lydia Goodrich fitting this description: BORN: about December 1787 around the Hartford Co., Ct., or Berkshire Co., Mass. areas MARRIED: about 1809 in or around those same areas (to Asa Manley of Sandisfield, Berkshire Co., Mass.) MOVED: to Hounsfield, Jefferson Co., N.Y. about 1810 DIED: November 1844 in Trumbull Co., Ohio A good possibility is this family of Micah Goodrich and Elizabeth Hills married in 1774 at Rocky Hill, Ct., and removed to Sandisfield Berkshire Co., Mass., but I don't see record of them having a daughter Lydia; however, Micah's son Bailey (who had a spinster daughter named Lydia) moved to Jefferson Co., New York. Thank you! Thanks for *any* leads! Mark A. Wentling
I am searching for Benjamin Goodrich. m. Sarah (Sally) Chiles in 1828. He is on the 1840 census but not on the 1850 census. I found a tax roll with Thomas Goodrich on it for 1851. (This may have been his father) There are several Thomases in the family. I have land records showing land bought and sold in Clinton County, Ohio, Union township and Green Township. He and Sally had 3 sons: Thomas W.; Isaac (my husbands Great Grandfather) and James. From Census records we make an educated guess that Sally was born in 1792, but we can find no record of birth or death of Benjamin. Any info would be appreciated. Jane Goodrich
I have a book entitled "10,000 Vital Records of Western New York, 1809-1850." For anyone doing research for WNY, I would be more than happy to do lookups if you send the last name you want me to look up. Please don't send too many at one time - 2 or 3 last names, no more. Also, keep in mind that this book only covers WNY (Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, Steuben, Erie, Niagara, Wyoming, Orleans, Schuyler, Yates, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Seneca, Monroe, and Wayne Counties.) I will send complete references along with information. Please email requests to me directly at smooba@hotmail.com ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

Goodrich Friends, On September 17, 1783, Rachel Lloyd married Elijah Goodrich in Amenia, Dutchess county, NY. Somteime subsequent to the marriage, they lived in The Springfield, Massachusetts area. My notes on Elijah are: Elijah, second son of Michael and Ann Goodrich, was born in Sharon in 1776, died in West Springfield, December 5, 1835. He lived in Delhi, but removed to Springfield somewhere near 1796. He married Rachel, daughter of John Lloyd, September 17, 1783. Children: John, Francis, Silas, and Almira. I am hoping some Goodrich researcher has this line and perhaps knows something of the origins of the parents of Rachel Lloyd Goodrich who were John and Eunice Rowley Johns Lloyd. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Best regards to all, Bruce Lloyd, Dryden, NY ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
